The World Congress on Clinical Trials in Diabetes (WCTD2016)

The World Congress on Clinical Trials in Diabetes (WCTD2016), which will take place 30 November - 1 December 2016, in Berlin, Germany.

With the multitude of complex issues associated with clinical trials in diabetes, it is clear that there is a necessity to streamline these issues into a process that will improve drug development in terms of approval and commercialization, and address the various aspects of drug and device development and the way to enhance them.

Congress Kit and Name Badge

Upon registration you will receive a Congress kit that includes the printed material of the Congress and your name badge. Please wear your name badge at all times during the Congress and to all official Congress events. 


November-December in Berlin is generally cloudy and cold with frequent periods of rain and the possibility of snow. Temperatures range between 3°C (37ºF) to -1ºC (30ºF). Warm attire is essential.

Transportation from Airport to Congress Venue 

Berlin has two international airports; Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXL). Both airports are well connected to the city centre. 

By Public Transport

Tegel Airport - Take Bus TXL to stop "Unter den Linden/Friedrichstraße"

Schönefeld Airport - Take the S9 to Ostkreuz, and continue on with the S3, S5, S7, S75 to S+U "Friedrichstraße" or travel directly with the regional train from the airport to S+U "Friedrichstraße"

Fares are between 1.70€-2.70€. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. 

By Taxi

Tegel Airport - The taxi ranks are located in the inner ring of Terminal A at Gates 6–9 and outside Terminal C and E.  The fare is around 22 €. Journey time is approximately 25 minutes.   

Schönefeld Airport - The taxi ranks are located on the approach to Schönefeld Airport, outside Terminal A.  The fare will be around 42 €. Journey time is approximately 36 minutes.



Participants from certain countries may require a visa in order to travel to Germany. Participants are requested to check with their local German Consulate/Embassy well in advance of their travel date. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa as necessary.

Official letters of invitation designed to assist with obtaining an entry visa can be downloaded from the Congress website - see Invitation Letter. Please note that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organising Committee or Congress to provide any financial assistance.
